Recommended Books on Beaded Purses
The ultimate book on beaded purses, one that will no doubt be the definitive work on the subject for decades to come, perhaps for all time.  Written by Evelyn Haertig.  A coffee table book, with 576 pages, hundreds of beautiful photographs, but beyond that, this volume has history, legacy and details of the creation of these works of art, the most information you will find on the subject, including dozens of vintage illustrations from many sources.  She also covers petitpoint purses, and some fabric purses going back ti the 1700s, plus very large sections on mesh purses and the nouveau leather purses.  I met Evelyn in Chicago in 1991 when she came to the O'Hare Antiques Show to promote her book, and she told me it cost her a quarter of a million dollars to publish this book, when you receive your copy, you'll understand why.  It is magnificent.  If you only buy one book on the subject of antique purses, this is the one to buy. You will learn so much.  (Not a price guide)  It costs $125, and worth every penny!
